Inspiration

Don’t lose face

The range is inspired by the human face, its structure as well as identity. It is not just the appearance that is important but also the creases and crevices of the human face that have their own story to tell.

This collection reflects multiple traits and features that people have, even though they might not be aware of it themselves. It is only when the situation arises or when the light hits those parts that they discover parts of them that never developed or have been un-noticed by them. Cubism is one of the art movements that helped to narrow down the different facets and distil the essence of the subjects with abstract forms. It helped within the research of this range to provide relevant design influences of a human face to a tangible range of bags.

As mentioned by Herman Hesse- “It is not our purpose to become each other; it is to recognise each other to learn to see the other and honour them for what they are; each the others opposite and compliment”.  The main source of inspiration was the works of Pablo Picasso, Egon Schiele and bags from old times from Harper’s Bazar and American vogue.
